Sharon Tenney, Medium 9:02 a.m. 2002-02-05 The following was an article that I had written and submitted. It was published by The Network magazine, July 2001's edition. Sharon Tenney, Medium By Julie A. Costa I sat there as Sharon described my grandfather, who died in Portugal. My grandfather died when my mother was an infant, but I grew up knowing much about him. I knew of his talent in writing, music and his young tragic death from throat cancer. I watched as Sharon grabbed her neck identifying him. "I feel as though he is being choked...he can't breathe...does that mean anything to you?" I felt a chill of recognition. "He is tipping his hat to you." Sharon was explaining a custom of older Portuguese men. Sharon also described my uncle and my brother. "There is a little boy whispering in my ear, and he tells me to tell you about the rabbits. He took them with him." My four year old brother died after being hit by a car. A day after my brother's death, my father came home to discover the pet rabbits dead. Sharon also saw my uncle who died crippled by MS, appearing tall, healthy, and standing, "watching over" my little brother. "I feel someone stroking my hand---it is for your mother." My mother's eldest aunt, Maria, was known for softly stroking my mother's hand; I remember visiting this aunt and her stroking my hand too. Through Sharon, I received their messages, which were both amazing and enlightening. My relatives in spirit urged my continuance of my own spirtual growth. My parents, after hearing about the reading, were rejuvenated in their own belief and faith that life continues..and death is not the end. As a journalist, I was curious, and I was able to ask Sharon a few questions about herself: Q: When did you realize your ability as a medium? A: I had many 'visitations' by numerous spirits since I was young; I have a younger sister who is also mediumistic. I have 'seen' spirits in many forms: fully materialized, holographically, misty colors, and in my head. Q: How do you receive information? A: I receive in a variety of ways: although I find names difficult to receive, I often receive full phrases, I see clear descriptions, they "talk" to me, I usually know the relationship to the person being read, and I try to get evidential information. I do not use cards, astrology, numerology or psychometry - just the person for whom I am reading. Q: Have you ever been tested? A: I was phone tested by the same lab that tested the well-known medium, John Edward. As a result of my rate of accuracy, I have been placed on their list of mediums to be used in future experiments. I don't like to advertise this fact, though, as I prefer people to feel 'led' to me. However, I feel testing is important to understanding mediumship. Q: How can you be contacted for readings?
